Sunday 17th June - Bell Gorge to Fitzroy Crossing

Back to civilisation

We returned to Fitzroy Crossing which felt like civilisation when in fact it is a very tiny little settlement.  We were so pleased to see the caravan, it felt so spacious after the 2m square tent.  Plus we didn't have to go to bed at 6:30pm because it was pitch dark!

This was a long drive for John on unsealed roads.  I drove the last stretch after we reached the tarmac and he had inflated the tyres.  The car is now so well coated in bulldust inside and out it is hard to tell what colour it is supposed to be!  Not much point in cleaning it though as we are off camping again next week.

Lennard Gorge WA
We managed one gorge on the way back, Lennard.  This is very deep and the track climbed to a viewing area on the top of the cliff, there was no way down to the water.

Once we were within mobile and internet range we learned the news of two births.  Congratulations to Amanda and Mark and to Johanna and Peter.

After unloading the car and doing some much needed laundry, we treated ourselves to a meal at the bar.  So nice to have something other than the canned and dried meals!
