We set off east along the Gibb River Road to visit Galvans Gorge and Manning River Gorge. On the way we stopped for fuel at Imintji roadhouse. This little store is in the middle of nowhere but has an incredible range of bits and pieces crammed into a tiny space and offers a tyre repair service - essential in this locality. I don't think we have met anyone who doesn't have a story to tell about shredded tyres, broken axles damaged radiators etc etc. These roads are very tough on vehicles and we saw plenty of abandoned ones that hadn't made it out.

Galvans Gorge was pretty but we really enjoyed Manning River. In the end we didn't walk to the waterfall as it was so hot, we just swam in the river and lazed about on the sandy beach before returning to our tent at Bell Gorge.
