Back to the Northern Territory
We made a great start at about 7:00am but within an hour and a half we had crossed the border into NT and lost 1.5 hours!
The day involved another really long drive back to Katherine and because of the time difference we got there quite late in the day. We made rest stops at Timber Creek and Victoria River roadhouse but these places are not very interesting.
We stayed at the Nitmiluk campsite so we could walk to the jetty in the morning for the dawn cruise on the gorge we had booked. Left the caravan hitched too so we could make a quick getaway afterwards.
The camp is set amongst trees within the park and there are very tame agile wallabies that wander around between the tents and caravans. One decided to lie down for an evening rest right outside the caravan door and looked quite put out when we emerged for a walk.
