Another hot and humid one today but we spent most of it in the car making our way back to Darwin. The Nissan dealer have confirmed they have the part so all should be well for doing the replacement tomorrow.
On the way we had a last look at a couple of the wetlands in the hope of seeing some different birds or animals. We stopped at the Bubba and the Mamukala Wetlands where there is a bird hide built over the water. It was far too uncomfortable for walking so we just observed from there with binoculars.
We had been disappointed to only see one Jabiru and that was right by the side of the road when we drove into Kakadu. Although we saw none at the designated bird watching stops we saw another three whilst driving out of the park. One of them flew right over the car and landed a few metres away. The other two were a pair sitting in buffalo grass on a flooded area to the side of the road. They were quite close but unfortunately we were unable to stop for a photo.
Once installed in the camp site back in Darwin we had to go our for the inevitable grocery shopping in Coles.
