A long, long drive today - 630kms. We have travelled 10 degrees south since yesterday morning and there is a very noticeable temperature difference. Yesterday evening we needed air conditioning, tonight we need heating! The terrain is flat and monotonous. Yesterday's savannah woodlands have given way to scrubby country. Lots of flocks of budgerigars though.

We made a big eastwards turn at 'three ways' where the Barkly Highway to Queensland intersects the Stuart Highway.
Barkly Homestead roadhouse made a good place to stop for the night. Very basic but all that is required.
