We set off early for a climb up onto 'the island' escarpment before the day warmed up. The lower gorge branches off forming a second watercourse which rejoins, so creating an island with sheer cliff sides. Very spectacular and glorious views from the top.

After this we hired a canoe and explored the middle gorge for a couple of hours. The water was lovely though there was a bit of a headwind going up. There are loads of fish in the water. There are also turtles and freshwater crocs but we didn't see either of these. Once again, we should have remembered to take goggles or masks to get a better view into the water.

We finished off with a riverside walk to an important aboriginal living site, with some artwork. Continuous occupation in this area has been dated back 30,000 years which is hardly suprising as it is an idyllic place to live with plenty of water, animals and plants.
