Saturday 19th May - Coober Pedy to Erldunda

Long, long drive

About halfway point

489 kms today and nothing interesting on the way.  The landscape is arid and barren and there were just 2 roadhouses to break the monotony.  The road, though excellent is much narrower than before and John was a bit alarmed when a 50m road train overtook us.  He had no room to move across but kept it all well under control as we got sucked into the vortex!

Erldunda campsite

Great relief to arrive at the campsite, set up and relax before watching the sunset.  This place has grassed sites which is a novelty in the outback.

  1. So I guess that's one way to test your relationship - 500km of road
